“Acting on intelligence, detectives conducted an ambush on Wednesday evening, leading to the swift apprehension of two of the suspects. The suspects were intercepted in a rented house near Allidina Visram High School, which served as their hideout,” police report stated.
Upon further interrogation, the two led officers to where their third accomplice was hiding.
The police noted that a thorough search of the premises revealed a cache of stolen items, which included four pangas, two Y-6 twisted metal bars sharpened at the edges, 18 small bales of bhang, 10 assorted suspected stolen mobile phones, six spotlights, four suspected stolen sheep, a 32-inch TV, and a gas cylinder.

The operation marks a significant victory for law enforcement in their efforts to curb crime in the area.
"This arrest is a breakthrough in our ongoing efforts to dismantle organised criminal networks in Mombasa. We believe these individuals were responsible for a series of violent robberies and thefts that have terrorised residents in recent months,” said a police source.
The suspects have been taken to Mombasa Central Police Station for processing and will be arraigned in court pending further investigations.
Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help maintain security.
